You’re Not A Bad Christian

My pastor recently said “if we are anything like Adam and Eve we hide when we sin.”

We know the story. After Eve eats the “forbidden fruit” and gives some to Adam, their eyes were opened. “Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.” – Genesis 3:24

This is so true of my nature. Sinning then hiding. This past Sunday was the first time I’ve been to church in three weeks. For 3 WEEKS I hid, because I felt shameful and guilty for missing church to help my husband at the restaurant. 1 Sunday turned in to 2 and then 3. I felt like everyone knew what a bad Christian I was. I also thought God was disappointed in my lack of attendance; He had to be.

(Colossians 1:22; 1 Peter 1:19).

God loves me. He loves you too. We must believe that the blood shed of Christ covers our sins. It is critical to our salvation.

Accept His GRACE.
Believe this TRUTH.
And STOP hiding.

  1. I was thinking earlier this week that God never asked us to understand everything, but to just believe and accept what He has done. It’s ok not to understand! 🙂 Thanks for the word of encouragement. I’m new on wordpress and just looking around for some good blogs to follow!
