Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is a complete protein, meaning it has all 9 of the essential amino acids (see chart below) that are crucial to human function and survival. AND its naturally gluten-free, holla!
This nutty little seed is so versatile and one of my favorite ways to eat it is with avocado, cucumbers, cilantro and roasted corn. My palette recognizes quinoa as a lunch additive but when a girlfriend mentioned having it for breakfast, I just had to try it for myself.
I made mine with strawberries, blackberries, bananas and a drizzle of organic maple syrup. O M G. I’ll be completely honest, the texture was interesting… but the flavor was bombnation.
