“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [ chose you ], before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
“Like newborn babies, [ you ] crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” 1 Peter 2:2-3
“But whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear or harm.” Proverbs 1:33
In my youth, I once heard wisdom – actually, I heard it speak up many times – yet I chose not to listen. I thought I was the master of my life. Boy was I wrong. I don’t have the “young and dumb” excuse anymore. In fact it should have died with the butterfly clip trend back in middle school. But I think I use my “young faith” as an excuse not to make big, b o l d spiritual moves.
God says to have childlike faith but that doesn’t mean to remain like a child. I think He wants me to keep the wonder and lose the whining. Keep the amazement and lose the hand holding. Gain wisdom. Seek truth.
Yea, I’m ready for that too.
