Command those who are rich in the present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds and to be generous and willing to share. 1 Timothy 6:17-18
A rich man may be wise in his own eyes, but a poor man who has discernment see through him. Proverbs 28:11
Love of money.
I’m guilty. Ahh. This is so hard, Father. To confess that I’m a sinner in this. I guess it really never struck me until this morning… My penny pinching self only penny pinches so I have more pennies in my pocket, for no other reason than to have more pennies.
I don’t freely give of the money I have because I’ve worked so hard to have it or because I’ve always had so little that money is like my security blanket. It’s hard to spend it without feeling guilty and its hard to give it away. I don’t know what I’m really trying to say… But you know God. You’ve searched my heart for this.
Father, you have been working on this in me for a while, I can feel it. The heart change. And I appreciate it so much.
Show me where I can give.
Teach me your ways.
I’m thankful for your correction.
