A Morning Prayer: Having Faith
Faith is not fantasy thinking. Faith is facing reality without being discouraged by it. It’s not pretending everything is ok, when it isn’t. It’s not saying “I feel great” when you don’t. Having faith doesn’t mean you deny reality. Problems exist; there will be times when you are in pain, when your heart hurts, and when you’re not happy. Faith is looking at all these things and proclaiming that God is greater then them all. Having faith is knowing that God can change any situation and not worrying about how He will.
A Morning Prayer: God, I believe You can change any situation around. I have faith in You and the plans You have for my life. I know You are greater than any problem I face. Thank You for working behind the scenes, in places I can not see, for my favor. Amen
So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18 MSG)
