A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones. Proverbs 15:30
I started practicing yoga a year ago and I love it for the physical challenge but also the mental challenge. When doing a challenging pose the instructor always says, “soften your gaze”. Whatever we are feeling our face is usually expressing that feeling. But did you know that it doesn’t have too? When you’re upset standing in the long line at the grocery store or stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, try softening your gaze. Your entire body and mind will shift, and you’ll suddenly feel content and less stressed! Try it out. Soften your gaze at others, your cheerful look will bring joy to your heart and others. You’ll also be surprised by how many people will do the same to you.
#AMORNINGPRAYER: Heavenly Father, when my emotions take over, my face clearly shows it especially when I’m stressed out or frustrated. May I learn to soften my gaze towards others and respond kindly to them. I want to be the one person in line or in traffic that can make others feel joy in not so joyful environments. Amen
