Dear Weary Creative, I recognize that slump and lack of pep in your step. You’re thinking and dreaming but nothing else is happening. Your frozen and not frozen and popular like the movie but cold and bitter and ready to give up on your dreams.
I have found myself doing the same; asking God, “Am I too old to dream?” And you know what He immediately came back with? “NO!”
I’m almost 30 years old. I’m married, I have a 14 month old son and I am 6 months pregnant with another one and I can’t help but feel like I have missed creative business making boat. You too?
Well, girlfriend, I’m here to tell you that the boat won’t set sail without us!
Because guess what honey child? There is no age limit on dreaming. God has not forgotten about the dreams He placed in our hearts. Those desires that keep us up at night – they were placed in us for one sole reason: to fulfill them.
Also, God has the capability of making more than one dream come true in our lives.
You better believe that.
I’m seeing women create successful businesses and have a home cooked dinner on the table almost every night. I’m seeing their dreams become reality right in front of my eyes, right in the middle of the chaos that is motherhood. And I’m not mad about that.
Actually, I’m quite inspired!
Because that means that God hasn’t forgotten about the dreams He placed in their hearts. That means although we put ourselves in the “out dated box” God has not. You still have purpose.
He’s got a big, BIG plan and we are a part of it!
Here’s some more mojo inspo: God has torn the veil off of the dreams that were placed on a shelf for the reality of life happening. He has dusted them off and has said, “now is the time.”
NOW IS THE TIME
Throughout the bible we see God speak people into action. We see people leave fishing for fish for fishing for men. We see a fire in a bush calling out a name, “Moses! Moses!” “Here I am!” Moses replies.
Enthusiastically! Like a Father calling to his daughter, “Raquel! Raquel! It’s time! It’s time to create! It’s time to write! It’s time to do ittttt”
There are dreams that have placed in your heart for a reason, for a purpose. And although you may think that the life you are currently living is as real as reality can get. Honey, there is more.
Because God created us for more. If He is clearly calling out your name as you draw near, will you respond with an enthusiastic, “Here I am!”?
Remain full of joy in the waiting, hope in the Lord and expect Him to finish the work He has begun in you.
When the LORD saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him for the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!” “Here I am!”Moses replied. Exodus 3:4
Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout, and enduring. yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord. Psalm 27:14 AMP
