We had so much fun at Disneyland and California Adventure for Carter’s 2nd birthday! Andrew and I used to live in Anaheim and have gone to Disneyland with each other a couple of times. But what a huge difference it was with two kids!

I ordered the boy’s outfits on Gap (love their Disney collab!) and mine and Andrew’s t-shirts off of Amazon. I was so excited to be “that matching family” at the park haha.

It poured rained the day before so we weren’t sure how busy or wet the park would be. But the weather was more than perfect, the park was clean and it wasn’t crazy busy! Hallelujah.

We got to the park around 12 and quickly made our way to all the spots I had on my “must take a picture at list” haha.

The boys were such troopers. Carter ended up skipping his nap altogether, so we either had to keep feeding him or stimulating him somehow. Which seemed to be every parents goal at Disney!

Carter got to meet Mickey, he followed Daisy around for a bit and he was just the sweetest thing ever as he walked around the park saying, “Mickey where are you.” I love him so much.

The one and only ride we rode together as a family was Pirates of the Caribbean and it was so fun to experience that with the whole crew! Carter was fascinated by it all and Caden kept his eyes peeled the whole time haha. Side note*, I could not believe the stroller parking areas! So many strollers!

Disneyland is so user friendly. I’m sure that doesn’t come as a surprise to hear. There is literally a solution for every problem. Andrew need to charge his phone and they had a charger station in the locker area. I needed to change the boys, not only were there changing tables in the men and women’s restrooms there was a designated “mom area” where you can nurse, change, and even warm up bottles!

I think what helped make our first trip to Disneyland as a family of 4 successful and really fun, was the expectation that there would be a lot of people and to just to mentally prepare for being bumped into, spilled on or pushed by; it’s inevitable! But I sure am glad we took our double stroller┬ábecause it would have been crazy chasing Carter or holding Caden the whole time.

A couple of other things that made our time at Disneyland really amazing were: packing yummy snacks like Lara Bars, Rx Bars, drinking lots of water and having a set (but flexible) plan.

I would say I can’t wait to go back, but I can. I’m still recovering from my Disneyland hangover – which I hear is totally a thing! Haha

Xo,

Raquel

  1. Great DL photos. You have such a beautiful family! Gorgeous boys!So cool we were there on the same day about the same time. Dom & I arrived at DL about 10:15am to 5:15pm. We just stayed in DL though. How late did you guys stay? Wow. Pirates of the carribean. How fun. So good Carter wasn’t afraid. There’s a few rides I haven’t took Dom on yet. Pirates is one. I used to take my nephew when he was little like Dom. Pre Dom. He used to get so scared on pirates so I’m hesitant to take Dom on it. Thanks for sharing your Magical Day!!! Looking forward to seeing you guys in a few weeks. Can’t wait to meet Caden.

    1. Thank you so much! We left the parks at about 4:30! Carter loved Pirates! Hopefully Dom will too! I can’t wait to see you both soon! Caden is a lover boy hehehe
